　'68-'74の作品を中心に収録され、"Introduction"として著者自身の作品解説がついている。Mark Carpentier Altingの選定で、当初は"Days of Grass, Days of Straw"のタイトルでオランダにて発行された。オービットから4篇（Dorg、忘れられた偽足、そして、わが名は、田園の女王）、アウストロのシリーズが6篇選ばれており、結果的にLafferty in OrbitとThrough Elegant Eyesとの重複が10篇あるのが残念なところ。また、Golden Gate and Other Storiesとの重複も2篇（草の日々、藁の日々、空-スカイ-）。一方、本作品集が初出の作品も3篇（泉が干あがったとき、And Some in Velvet Gowns、The Doggone Highly Scientific Door）ある。
